For Men Only

Consciously or unconsciously, most men know and live by the four points of “The Masculine Code.”

Competition.  Win at all costs. Whatever it takes. Never give up. Second place is first loser.

Autonomy. Don't rely on anybody. Army of one. If you want the job done right, do it yourself.

Invulnerability. No fear. Period.

Power.  Horsepower. Firepower.  Willpower.

It doesn't matter whether you're blue-collar, white-collar, or no-collar, you know The Code.

There are times when The Code is a very good thing. Like on the football field. Or the battlefield.  Most of our orientation toward these things is hardwired by testosterone.

But most of the way we live out The Code has been handed down to us by our culture.  Somebody taught it to you.  Somebody convinced you to act out The Code in a particular way.  But ask yourself ... who gave them the right to decide for you how to live The Code?

When we live according to somebody else's interpretation of The Code ...

  • it can keep us from loving our wives and children well.

  • it can keep us from developing strong bonds of friendship with other men.

  • it may be what keeps us from going to the doctor – even when its an emergency (“tis but a flesh wound!”).

  • it may be what keeps most American men from connecting with a local church.

  • it may be what keeps men from talking things over with a mentor, a coach, or a counselor.

If unchallenged, false applications of The Code will ultimately keep us from pursuing the true goals God created them to achieve.

I specialize in helping men get untied from false applications of The Code in key aspects of our lives: sexuality, sexual addiction, stress, depression, marriage, and fatherhood.
